Cathédrale végétale, Chamber

2014

This carpet for Chamber was designed for a small, peaceful corner of privacy. matali crasset describes it as “a space of delicate balance with tension,” drawing attention to how the “soft and rhythmic colors absorb us and invite us to take a break in the abstraction.” Named “Cathédrale Végétale,” it is a plant cathedral, where the artificial and natural meet, which Crasset calls “a new kind of confluence. “Invitation,” “meeting,” ”tension,” “break,” and “confluence” are words that bring to mind connections, like the pattern of intersecting lines and colors on the carpet and the act of weaving.
